A great day. Trip to flea market in the morning, rooster fighting, and Phai’s Garden Grows.

Went with Phai and Ning to the flea market in our village. I actually found a shirt there I liked and it fit me. That is hard to do here. Really having fun interacting more and more with the locals who are getting used to seeing me around. I took a nap before lunch and when I walked out Phai said they have chickens in the backyard, go see. Well, Thai language does not have separate words for chickens vs roosters. They are all called chickens. They were actually getting ready to have a friendly rooster fighting competition. No betting and they tape the spurs so the roosters do not get hurt. I didn’t want to miss anything by going inside for my good camera so I simply used my iPhone. Turned out to be a great decision. Even used the Slo Mo feature for some of the footage. You can view the HERE.

Phai is planting a major vegetable garden in the side lot. She bought the seeds at the market this morning. She said it will be ready to harvest before we go back to America. We are starting to get rain almost daily now so we are very happy about that. It is still a drought but improving. Bangkok is broadcasting concerns about running out of drinking water if the drought continues. They estimate thirty days. They have even been asking the farmers in the Bangkok region not to plant rice until the fall.

Don’t Worry. The roosters were not hurt.
