What happened to the rainy season. Hot and sunny today. Went to my farm.

Somebody turned the heat back on. I am glad we went to the farm early before it got too hot. Even with several days of sun and no rain the road to the farm was still a bit treacherous. The river is full but not flowing as fast as thought it would be. I think it was a partial release upstream from the dam. My rice is doing very well. So is the corn they planted around the perimeter. It is sweet corn for human consumption, not the feed corn we grow in between rice crops. Phai and son in law harvested a lot of bamboo shoots and also some fruit from the trees. We have a number of bunches of bananas that should be ready to pick before we leave. I also took the opportunity now that I have a data plan for my iPhone of doing a live FaceTime call to my dad. He got to visit my farm live, see my rice, my river and watch Phai and son in law harvest bamboo. He could hear how quiet it was with only the birds making any noise. I wish Apple would allow you to capture your FaceTime calls for later playback.

Well, I found out the lottery in Thailand is just like the lottery in Florida. You buy tickets dreaming of winning big only to realize you would have won bigger by not buying the tickets. At least I can add it to my list of things I have done in my life. Ning set up a rack to display the outfits that Phai made yesterday and sold several of them before ten this morning. I told Phai she should consider making some and bringing them the meetings I teach at in Florida. I have a feeling some of you would like them.

I got an interesting email from YouTube today. It said the music in the dance recital video video I posted two days ago is Copyrighted. It goes on to say:

"Ads might appear on your video. Copyrighted content was found in your video. The claimant is allowing their content to be used in your YouTube video. However, ads might appear on it. VIEWING RESTRICTIONS None

Monetized by claimant

If you agree with these conditions, you don't have to do anything.

It shows how their computers check everything that gets posted on Youtube. They have a massive database of all copyrighted media. Depending on the copyright they can remove your video but in my case I can keep it posted but the owner of the copyright can place ads before the video plays.

Ning is having great success selling the outfits made by Phai.

They even planted corn on the raised portions of soil between the rice paddies.

The rice that I planted is at the base of the stick. Looks okay to me.

This is where son in laws father almost slide into the rice paddy with his truck. They used the logs to help get his truck out.

I couldn’t resist posting this photo of my river with the reflections.

The ever present ugly chickens. I always thought chickens were white before coming to Thailand.

You can see that it is still muddy at the farm.

Phai and son in law wade into the river to harvest fruit. I do not even know the english word for the type of fruit it is.

Phai is happy with the bag of fruit they harvested. It was worth getting her feet wet. She is wearing one of her new creations.

I look forward to eating these bananas when they are ripe. Things always taste better when you grow them yourself.
