All the adjustments are made, work completed and contractors paid.

They came today and put up the screening in the back room and installed the two translucent panels for our skylights. They also adjusted all the screens on the inside windows and two of the sliding doors that were not working correctly. Of course within a few minutes of them completing the work the owner was here to collect the rest of his money. While Phai and I counted the money he sat in my chair and seemed to really like it. I showed him how the chair reclines and he can put his feet up on the foot stool. He loved it. I think he may go to Thai Watsadu where I bought it but I told him I got the only one they had and wished luck finding one.

Our granddaughter Fa Sai (the thirteen year old) wanted to sleep in the new house last night so we fixed her up a mat on the living room floor. Phai was up early to get her off to school (the school van picks her up about 6:30am). I then heard a commotion and people shouting and Phai ran in and said her sister Jahn is sick. I got up, got dressed and walked down to Jahn's house. There were eight women and her husband attending to her. She was on a mat on the living room floor. Then they all started massaging her. Her legs, arms, back, etc. I went back to our house and ate breakfast. Phai came home a few minutes later and said that Jahn woke up with severe cramping in her entire body. They were going to take her to Udon Thani to her doctor but I guess she started feeling better so they her to the Temple to talk to the head Monk instead. About noon she had another attack (I guess the Monk didn't cure her) and this time they got her in the truck and took her to a clinic in Na Klang. Phai said it happened once before to her about a year ago. She was given a shot and some muscle relaxants and sent back home so she spent all afternoon sleeping on the restaurant floor so we could watch over her.

It feels so good to have all the major house construction done and paid for and I love the curtains. They give us great privacy and block out the morning sun really well. Also I pointed out to Phai that our house no longer echoes when we talk. It poured really heavy this afternoon. I was in the restaurant with a tin roof and it was unbelievably loud. I went in the house and it was much quieter. I went in our bedroom and I could hardly tell it was raining. I am really surprised and delighted at how sound proof the house is.

After the rain stopped we went into Na Klang and bought some paint to put a border along the bottom of the exterior of the house and also to paint the trim around the wood doors. We also picked up a mirror for over the sink and a new toilet paper holder to mount on the privacy wall. I am looking forward to not reaching back.

Got back from shopping and Phai said there is some big event at the temple and they can use her help to serve beverages. I went along and took my camera so I am posting a few of the photos. I figure you are getting a bit tired of seeing photos of our new house so I will be focusing more on photos of Thai people and things around town.

This is what was happening to the temple. They seemed to be on break when I was there

The story of Buddha's life is painted all around the ceiling.

I looked across the room and saw this scene out the window. I used my zoom lens and I really like the colors.

I walked outside the building and took this shot of the same scene.

These are all across the front of the roof line. They help guard against any angry spirits.

I posted video several months ago of them moving cement pillars to build this. Now it is well on its way. It will house a very large Gong.

Spotted this as I walked around the temple grounds. I had not noticed it before today.

Also saw this and found it interesting with the two melted candles and all the figures.

A closer view.

I don't understand why I couldn't get Phai to go with this color scheme for our house. (LOL)

I just had to show you how the workers plugged in their extension cord for their drill.
