Our tile floor is being installed.

The trucks continued arriving this morning until we had a total of 34 loads of dirt dumped and spread. Well, actually we didn't have the tractor spread the last load because we are going to use it to fill in along along the base of the new wall between us and the neighbor. Ten sections of the wall are done with three more to go. It is 5:20 pm and he is still working. I am typing this up a little early because Phai and I need to make a run into Na Klang to buy a small travel bag for Laos. I didn't know until yesterday that she gave two of our small suitcases to her son to take to Korea. We don't need to take but a couple changes of clothes, my cameras and computer, and our iPads.

The rest of the footings for the back room are poured and the steel braces for the ceiling are being welded in place now. But the big news is that our tile in the main house is being laid now. Phai hired someone to do it who appears to be very good at it. He is taking care to ensure it is level and fits well. He is actually putting down a base of of something he mixes before laying the tile. He does a small section at a time and seems to be meticulous.

Well, it is now 7:15 pm and we just got back from a run in to Na Klang where we picked up a nice travel bag that will take care of both us for $15.  Phai is heating my dinner and I will hit post so this gets out on the site before it gets too late. Still planning on Laos tomorrow.

He was going to alternated direction of the tiles but Phai said we want them to look as much like wood boards a possible.

I was surprised at how thick the base is that he puts under the tiles.

We filled in the lot behind Ning's father in law's "bungalow". Which I hope to knock down when he moves in the house we are in now.

We will use some of that dirt to fill in along the new wall being built next to the restaurant and our house.
