Rain all night and most of the day. A new video added.

I have been vindicated for my tough stance on the cement truck yesterday. It poured rain all night. If we had not had that cement poured yesterday it would sure not have happened today. There is no way a vehicle, especially a heavy cement truck, could reach the new house now. It did stop for awhile this morning and we used the old pickup truck to move most of the cinder blocks from where they were stacked at the old house to the new house. We drove them to the front of the restaurant and used a wheelbarrow to get them to the new house. Shortly after we finished the sky opened up again and it poured for hours. You can see some photos below. but we were able to build our bathroom walls in the rain because the roof protected the area. The bathroom walls are about 80 per cent done. It is 6:00 pm now and our son in law is still working on them so the back wall is higher now than in the photo below.

When I think about how I would feel right now if we had not gotten that cement yesterday and knowing it may be many days before a truck could get in due to this rain which is forecast to continue for two more days. I would be one very unhappy guy. Phai said it was the first time the family had ever seen me angry/upset. I was a little worried I may have offended them but when Phai told them I had said "If we do not get that cement in today, I am finished with the house and the money stops" they all laughed. I guess they thought I couldn't be serious but little do they know I absolutely was. I know they realize now I made the correct decision.

The company we contracted with to complete the interior did not come today. That doesn't surprise me because they have to custom make the front doors and prepare the drop ceiling. I imagine they will be here tomorrow. Since we made good progress on the walls for the back room I am happy and will sleep well tonight.

It is now 6:20 pm and it just started pouring rain again. I really need to learn how to say "I told you so" in Thai.

My little buddy Pen spent some time with me this morning before leaving for day care.

That mud is now saturated with water and is slick just like ice. We had to add more gravel to the path Phai built.

That is some serious rain fall.

As I was taking the photo of the motorcycle riding in the pouring rain I noticed the electrical meters on a pole out front of the restaurant are exposed to the rain.

On the other side of that wall is our bathroom.

My son in law has continued working on that back while since I took this photo an hour ago.
